:( I honestly feel soo sorry for you! You seem like a reliable nice guy and I have no thought why they won’t hire you! I really hope things get better! Excellent Luck! :)

If you have dedication, you can try and become a translator (not an interpreter, mind you). That is something you can do at home and at your leasure.

You could try a few languages and see if you like any of them. It’s also the kind of profession which makes you more and more valuable over time. Takes time, but languages are needed in all professions.

Don’t tell yourself that you can’t do it. It’s never too late to start. It could also turn out that you are a prodigy :) Also works as a leisure activity.

I live in the UK and i’ve been unemployed for a honest period of time before, and it’s not fantastic at all. I left school in 2008, and after 2 years of searching I got a job in retail. I’ve now been working at this same place for 2 years and i’m still part time. Not only that, but I unquestionably despise how the managment and customers treat you like crap. I’ve been disciplined for standing up for myself, and doing what I believe is right. Retail jobs are one of the only type of jobs around in the UK.

    I prefer tutoring.
How about vacant back to school for what you like? You are passionate about MMOs. George Mason University (DC metro area) has a computer game design major and the most graduates get the jobs for Bioware Mythic (VA) and Bethesda (MD) through professors, networking, and a placement provided as a way.

let me tell you this. just becuase some one has a job , that dose not mean they know how to do that job.

  • HeartPiece4u:

instead of trying to give a speech to you, im just telling you there is “some” work in air controls. i tryed all the grocery stores. all the factorys in my state. only
hier “minoritys” and the wear house jobs too. working refridgeration and air handling isnt insanely hard.

  • HeartPiece4u:

i no longer work for rr donnaly. and most of the commercial air controls compannys i aplie for dont use me becuase of lack of expereince. but i would recomend learning. to use” tracer summit” most of the TRANE air controlls systems use “tracer summit” you alos need to know electical, chemical mechanics. thats what im learning. but for the most part i can fix all house hold air conditioners. its simple in comparision to air controls.

  • HeartPiece4u:

im in the same boat right now. my first job was at wal~mart. i was 18 worked over night. for 3 years. then i got into a refridgeration companionship as a helper asistant. then i went on to a commercial air conditioning companionship. were i would change out filters and check R420 pressure in the machines. i got a part time job at a companionship called RR donnaly. its a magazine facotroy. my dad got me the job becuase he knows how to do air contorls. such as “tracer summit”,” carrier” , and a few other contols.

Is getting your master degree feasible? You seem intelligent enough.

  • puddincupp:

It does suck. I was there too and now I have job I really like, but I’m working only part-time for the past 3 years. And now no one likes to talk about how the unemployed are getting being purposely overlooked by companies.

I be with you your frustration. But they are a lot of “No way” in your speech. Maybe you need to take a more positive view on things and don’t let them bring you down. The worst mistake you can make is stop trying. Try whatever business… anywhere… you need a place to start from. Doesn’t matter if it’s just sweeping the floors or whatever… in time you will have the chance to show your worth and somebody will see that. Everyone starts from the bottom of the barrel…

  • stephenpughz:

But on a lighter note…quest “The Tale About Lucky the Guide Dog” seeing as ya like dogs :)

It’s the same in the UK,1 cleaning job in the local hospital got 55 applicants. The Job was already gone when they applied.
I myself have been unemployed for 4 years, but thats due to disability.I don’t look forward to (if) when I get better and have to start looking.
It is disheartening.I’m 33 and have only had 2 jobs!
